HUDSON COUNTY ACTIVIST PLANS SOLIDARITY PRESENCE
IN IRAQ AGAINST U.S. WAR!

Dear People,

I am going to Iraq on Feb 16th to join the Truth Justice Peace Action project.  I have called my NJ Senators and Congressman Menendez to apprise them of this.

I feel that my physical presence in Iraq is the strongest statement a United States citizen can make to express their opposition to the war the current regime in Washington DC is attempting.  I believe that Iraq is not an international threat.  It is in violation of international law to wage a pre-emptive war.  It is an international war crime to destroy the infrastructure on which civilian lives depend, yet that is what was done in Iraq in the Gulf War. These policies have been a holocaust for that nation and the current US administration is proposing to unleash another one, a military incursion that amounts to an extermination of millions of Iraqi civilians.  The repercussions of this will destroy Iraq and degrade human society internationally.  Only those few who ghoulishly profit from poverty and militarism will benefit.

If any of you can assist me with small donations, please send them to:  Vietnam Veterans Against the War, PO Box 7053, Jersey City, NJ  07307.  Make the checks out to:  Vietnam Veterans Against the War - Iraq.  The money will be earmarked to help finance my travel expenses.  Should the outbreak of war before Feb 16th prevent me from traveling, the money will then go the the Iraq Water Project, being implemented by Veterans for Peace.  (Please see http://www.veteransforpeace.org  for more information.) This is a project which has been rebuilding the water treatment plants in Iraq destroyed in the first Gulf War.

Thank you,
Judith Karpova
