Surround the White House Against the US War on Iraq - Washington, DC - April 12

On April 12, there will be an Emergency Convergence on the White House in Washington DC.  In spite of overwhelming world opposition, even from the majority of the UN Security Council, the US has plunged ahead into the abyss of war with Iraq in an effort to takeover, seize and occupy the entire nation.  Each day we witness how foolhardy the decisions of the US administration as promises of a quick cake walk have faded.  The war without UN backing is clearly illegal in every way - this is clearly a criminal US war.   Everyone recognizes that it is critical that the movement maintain momentum and visibility as a means to further ignite grassroots opposition everywhere. At the White House convergence on April 12, thousands of people will demand No War on Iraq. They will also call for George Bush to be impeached for crimes committed in planning and executing war abroad and assaulting constitutionally protected civil rights and civil liberties at home.

Apparently Bush is having a hard time understanding that the people in the U.S. and around the world do not want his war against Iraq.  Let's take the message to his door.  ANSWER has put out a call for an emergency response (originally March 1, but moved to April 12) to surround the White House.  A flyer will be out soon, but we need to hear from everyone in the next week about interest in buses.  Tickets will be $20; buses will leave from outside 30th Street Station (time to be announced).  Call 215-724-1618 or contact:

We will be setting up ticket sale locations - let us know if you can help with this and/or with phone banking and other means to get the word out quickly.  So cast off your cabin fever from the weight of winter and spread the word about April 12.  Start by emailing your friends and anyone else you know who wants to stop this war.  Time is running out!!!!

The Coalition for Peace Action has decided to facilitate participation of persons against a war with Iraq in the next national demonstration on that theme on Saturday, April 12, 2003 in Washington, D.C. It is sponsored by the ANSWER Coalition, as were the October 26, 2002 and the January 18, 2003 demonstrations.  We ask that if you plan to come on our bus(es) to D.C. that day, please click on the link below and make your reservation now. We don't want to reserve more than we need, since we need to pay a deposit which we might forfeit if we cancel it. Once we start filling these buses, we can reserve more.
