Griggstown Public Day Use Area of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park
While RSVP is not required – if you can please do so we can get an idea of who is coming:
Discussion of US occupation situation and upcoming plans to occur at about 5 pm.
To get there from Route 1 – take Ridge Road exit (coming from south on Rt 1 N., take jug handle to cross Route 1 and coming from north on Rt 1 S, take right). Follow Ridge Road and it eventually, after crossing 518, changes to Canal Road. Follow Canal Road for about 3 – 5 miles and take the first left turn over the bridge – the park is between the two bridges.
From 206 N (coming from south), take River Road about 3 – 5 miles and make right, across bridge – park is between 2 bridges.
From 206 south, make left on Griggstown Road, at big Stop Signs, Griggstown Road continues by a right turn, follow around curve, to end, make left on River Road and first right, across bridge – park is between 2 bridges.
You are cordially invited to a picnic hosted by the Committee to End the Occupation and Youth Against Exploitation War and Racism to occur on Saturday, August 9, 2pm. The picnic will occur at the Griggstown Public Day Use Area of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park located in Franklin Township. The park features charcoal grills, access to the Delaware and Raritan Canal and the Millstone River. There is a canoe rental outfit right across the street and at least one canoe will be available for non-fee use. If you have a baseball mitt and would like to participate in a pick up game, bring that as well. Bring your own picnic – bring a chair or two if you can - all are welcome – activists, families and friends. Bring whatever recreational items you would like to bring including musical instruments, Frisbees, etc. Feel free to bring information about what your group is doing to share as well.
