Somerset Voices for Peace and Justice: Mission Statement

Somerset Voices for Peace and Justice was founded to oppose the policy of endless war as manifested in the escalation toward war on Iraq.

Our mission is to bring together the people in our community who seek peace, and educate each other about alternatives to war and to the militarization of our society. We work to address the root causes of terrorism and war and to advocate foreign and domestic policies based on economic and social justice, international law, non-violence, and the preservation of civil liberties.

We seek to build a broad-based group that gives voice to our common commitment to security through justice, not war.
